Why bother being jealous when Blogger is free?

For the past 2 or 3 years I've been an online blogger, initially through DeadJournal, then LIvejournal, and possibly through .Mac or Blogger. Why the fickleness? Well, if you haven't seen Deadjournal its site looks a lot like my early forays into coding HTML with Notepad--awful. Livejournal was a step up--simple, not too CSS'ed out, and with a large base of friends awaiting my silly entries.

Today, I am trying out teh Blogger. Why the sudden move? I didn't feel like paying for a Livejournal account in order to get a layout that looked good, when Blogger already set a better aesthetic standard for the low price of 5 seconds of your time to register.

I feel like I am cheating on my ole livejournal blog in making this post, but I think I've needed the transition. My writing is highly influenced by who my audience is. It was mainly high schoolers reading my blog about the college experience, and I have had to keep it clean.

I don't think that they're ready to hear political commentary or perspectives on adulthood, sexuality and race.

And I think I am ready to write about such things with impunity. Hasn't always been that way, but times are a-changing.
